An unforeseen and unnerving incident unfolded in the vicinity of Yarang Municipality Office at around 10:50 p.m. This heart-rending episode took place during the course of a security patrolling mission carried out by a handful of police officers, cruising in an official car, complemented by two intrepid volunteers bracing the night on their motorcycle.
The tranquility of that night was abruptly shattered by the nefarious insurgents’ targeted and coordinated assault. As the unsuspecting team of law enforcement officers and volunteers made their way to the scene, the insurgents perpetrated a malicious act of terror. They detonated a potent explosive, wreaking havoc and causing substantial damage to the vehicles of these brave protectors of peace.
But the malevolent insurgents, their hearts devoid of any respect for the sanctity of human life, were not finished. Tightly gripping their lethal military-grade weapons, they unleashed a brutal onslaught of gunfire. Tragically, one of the courageous volunteers present that frightful night, Chanwit Dorloh, was slain due to this ruthless act of violence.
Three dauntless police officers, Pol Corporal Ismaen Jitlang, Pol Corporal Sarawut Susan, and Pol Corporal Boonkini Duere, in addition to the valiant volunteer Narong Rakaew, sustained varied degrees of injuries from the fatal attack, bearing the marks of the night’s horrendous event.
Simultaneously, another faction of these ruthless insurgents executed a tactical and strategic form of destruction in Rawaeng, Krado, and Yarang subdistricts. They orchestrated the detonation of a sizeable explosive next to the towering electric poles, rendering the areas in an eerie darkness as the blackout ensued. Authorities are inclined to believe that this cunning act was meticulously planned to create a conducive escape route for these insurgents concealed under the veil of the blackout.
As the echoes of their terror surge ripple through Yarang, the authorities are ramping up efforts to bring the purveyors of this heinous act to justice whilst focusing on ensuring the security and well-being of the residents.
