In the heart of bustling Bangkok, atop a towering 22-story condominium, a chilling tale of love, enigma, and pursuit unfolds. Daniel Benjamin Goh Wei-En, a 32-year-old Singaporean national, is the man at the center of this dramatic manhunt. The mystery commenced when the lifeless body of his girlfriend, 30-year-old Phraophilas, was discovered swathed in a blanket and a blood-spattered bedsheet within their opulent apartment’s bathroom.

It was a close confidante of Phraophilas who stumbled upon the morbid scene on a solemn Wednesday evening. Concerned after losing touch since the ominous Monday of March 24, she reported her friend as missing to the Thong Lor Police Station. With a gentle plea, she persuaded the building manager to unlock the doors of mystery.

Pol Maj-General Noppasin Poonsawat of the Metropolitan Police Bureau disclosed tantalizing details fetched from the all-seeing eyes of CCTV cameras. Footage painted a vivid picture of the couple’s last moments together. On Sunday, March 23, the pair had ventured out at roughly 6:43 PM, perhaps to delight in a festive birthday celebration, only to return a few hours later, precisely at 9:17 PM. The doomed timeline showed Goh leaving the premises under the cloak of that very night.

On Monday, in the creeping hours past midnight at 12:12 AM, Goh crept back into the condo. His actions were peculiar—a quick descent to the lobby at 1:31 AM, only to gather two nondescript bags before retreating to the suite above. Suspense thickened when Phraophilas’s mother missed a phone call from her daughter’s device at 10:29 AM, and even though she tried to call back soon at 10:35 AM, silence greeted her end.

As Monday hovered between night and dawn, Goh remerged from the room twice, procuring paper bags from the lobby between 12:17 AM and 12:46 AM. It wasn’t until later that day, at precisely 5:43 PM, that he was observed leaving, donning a nondescript cap, potentially masking his identity from prying digital lenses.

The shadowed specter of Goh returned at 3:33 AM on the peripheral Tuesday of March 25, only to vanish once more at 3:16 PM. Witnesses reported he sported a cap, as he awaited the silent arrival of a black Mercedes, guided by digital prompts, whisking him away by 3:19 PM.

The plot thickened on the thoroughfares of Sukhumvit when a driver confessed to police that his passenger—none other than Goh—had alighted at a restaurant, before paying to journey to an obscure hotel on the bustling Phetchaburi Road. There, under the canopy of anonymity, witnesses say Goh rendezvoused with two shadowy figures, ultimately leaving in a bronze SUV on a pathway supposedly leading to Mae Sai in Chiang Rai province.

Further probes revealed Goh’s cynical past: he had ventured into Thailand over three dozen times, each stay shrewdly spanning a mere 10 to 15 days. Yet, his legal stamp waxed inexorably expired as of May 28, 2024, tarnishing his transient odysseys with the ink of illicit trespass.

The couple had shared the comfort of their condo for two fleeting months, a staggering price tag of 170,000 baht per month marking their perch high above the city. Despite the opulence, turbulent whispers of frequent quarrels and physical altercations simmered beneath the facade of romance.

Pol Maj-General Noppasin Poonsawat has reinforced his team’s relentless pursuit of Goh with swift, decisive action, in part to safeguard Bangkok’s precious tourism charm. With personal vendettas hinting as a motive and no sign of Goh’s departure from Thai soil, the stage is firmly set for an intense hunt brimming with suspense.

This whole situation is so bizarre and tragic. It makes you wonder what led to such a terrible outcome.

Right? I can’t believe that someone could do something like this. There must be more to the story.

      • Jessica T March 27, 2025

It seems like they had a tumultuous relationship. Maybe it was just a powder keg waiting to go off.

    • smartguy42 March 27, 2025

It’s probably just another case of domestic violence that escalated. Sad but not surprising.

  2. Sam March 27, 2025

I don’t understand why people don’t just leave relationships that are obviously failing. Would’ve saved lives.

    • Nina! March 27, 2025

It’s not always that simple, Sam. People feel trapped or believe things will get better.

    • Sam March 27, 2025

I guess, but at what point do you prioritize your own safety over false hope?

  3. wildforest March 27, 2025

Goh seems like a seasoned escape artist. It’s crazy how he managed to slip away so easily.

This case is like a movie script. So many coincidences and mysterious happenings.

Except real lives are at stake, and it’s far from entertaining when you think about it.

    • Penny L. March 27, 2025

Of course, it’s tragic. But it’s also so incredibly puzzling in how it played out.

  5. JohnDoe March 27, 2025

Isn’t it suspicious that Goh had been in Thailand so many times recently? Makes you wonder what he was up to.

    • intltraveler March 27, 2025

Maybe it’s related to business? Or something a bit more shady?

    • JohnDoe March 27, 2025

Given his overstay, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something less legal than business.

  6. Ravi Singh March 27, 2025

I hope the authorities catch him soon. It’s imperative for public safety!

  7. Elena March 27, 2025

The media is sensationalizing this. We should wait for the facts before jumping to conclusions.

    • real_elon March 27, 2025

True, but it’s hard to ignore the drama. The evidence so far is pretty damning though.

    • Elena March 27, 2025

I just think respecting the investigation process is important instead of feeding into speculation.

  8. Adventurous43 March 27, 2025

This whole situation makes me question staying in fancy condos with partners. You never know what people might be like behind closed doors.

  9. Theo March 27, 2025

Another crime that’s going to tarnish Thailand’s reputation for tourists. The authorities need to act fast.

  10. Morgan G March 27, 2025

Smells like a cover-up. Maybe Goh had connections. How else would he disappear so quickly?

    • Jessie W. March 27, 2025

That’s a possibility. Connections can get you a long way in keeping things under wraps.

  11. sophie_mk March 27, 2025

Scary to think how someone can be charming and loving yet capable of something so monstrous.
