Suteewan Thaweesin, popularly known as Baitoey, who has held tenure as a renowned actress and singer, was enveloped in a whirlwind of emotions when she sought solace in the redeeming hands of the court, which granted her bail in the ripple effect of the notorious Forex-3D Ponzi scheme controversy. The bail bond arrived following the successful submission of a handsome cash guarantee of 5 million baht, arranged by her devoted brother and confidant, Charnwit Thaweesin, also recognized by the name Lux.
No stranger to the limelight, Baitoey found herself as the third defendant in the Forex-3d Ponzi case that came under the judicial microscope today at Ratchadapisek Criminal Court at 10am. This was the case marked 989/2566, which was the next chapter in the chronicles of this saga, coming into being from a bail application put forward by Charnwit and Amorn Kuson, her legal advocate, ironically on the same day they deposited a cash guarantee of 5 million baht, October 19.
Caught in the crossfire of legal proceedings, Baitoey had been pinned by past failures to secure bail, twice to be exact, as the court has firmly stayed its decision on grounds of potential absconding. Consequently, Baitoey became a resident of the Central Women’s Correctional Institution.
The gavel fell in her favor eventually, and the court embraced their pleas for bail, agreed to be given the security pledge by her family. This news struck a chord with the seasoned songstress, and she turned to prayer, shedding a veil of tears, and in an emotionally charged climax, embraced her father, as shared by KhaoSod.
The court permission for her to walk free satellites around a 5 million baht cash security, coupled with the obligation to wear an electronic bracelet for monitoring purposes. The Songkhla native will have to make appearances as mandated by the court directives, and cannot cross the borders of her country.
