Picture this: a grand ceremony amidst the bustling backdrop of the Sustainability EXPO 2024 at the magnificent Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The atmosphere is electrifying as Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, the dynamic CEO of Thai Beverage Plc, stands alongside other prominent figures, beaming for the camera. It’s a heartwarming occasion, where 15 schools have just received grants totaling an impressive 150,000 baht.

In this celebration of education and sustainability, the spotlight is on the future – the youth! With a grand gesture, Thai Beverage Plc is extending a helping hand to catalyze impactful projects in line with the admirable principles of the sufficiency economy. Thapana himself graced the SX Talk Stage, making the event an unforgettable moment in the hearts of many.

In the colorful crowd, there’s Suporn Trinarin, respected secretary-general of the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board (ORDPB), holding the limelight on the left; and Ketthip Supavanich, the diligent deputy secretary-general from the Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec), strategically positioned at the third left. Each of them, alongside a team of dedicated teachers, step forward to acknowledge the fruits of collaboration.

In this grand affair, 15 schools – a blend of 10 primary and 5 secondary – each gain a boost with 10,000 baht scholarships. This isn’t just a ceremony but a strategic movement towards embracing royal initiatives, fostering them among young minds, and making them the steward of tomorrow.

From Chachoengsao, enter the enthusiastic voices of teachers and students from Pak Bueng Singto School. They are unabashedly proud to present how they’ve ingeniously woven the philosophy of sufficiency economy into their daily learning. Their vibrant curriculum speaks of organic composting, mushroom cultivation that seems almost magical, and herbal soap making that fills the air with soothing scents.

A highlight comes from a spirited teacher from Wat Pitulathirat Rangsarit Kindergarten. Passionately, he shares that their project walks in the cherished footsteps of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great himself. Through fun, hands-on outdoor experiences, children are planting trees, tending herbs, learning to breed fish, and discovering ways to contribute financially to their families sustainably. Education, it appears, is not confined to the classroom anymore!

The event draws to a reflective close with the wise advice of Sumet Tantivejkul, secretary-general of the Chaipattana Foundation. With an eloquence befitting the occasion, he gently urges everyone to internalize King Rama IX’s profound teachings. His words are a memory of water management and sustainable development, with lessons that echo through time. In a world that’s forever changing, he stresses the significance of nurturing moral values and intelligence within the youth. After all, they hold the keys to a sustainable future.

The radiant smiles and heartfelt exchanges remind us that everyone has a role to play in this grand tapestry of life. As the ceremony concludes, one leaves with a hopeful heart – that even small steps taken today, in the spirit of learning and self-sufficiency, could very well change the world for the better.
