BBIX Thailand, a dynamic joint venture formed by BBIX Japan and True IDC, and BBSakura Networks, a celebrated network solutions provider, are ecstatic to unveil a groundbreaking collaboration. They have officially signed an agreement to launch Thailand’s inaugural Open Connectivity eXchange (OCX). What makes this a monumental milestone is that, for the first time, OCX services will be hosted locally within a Thai data centre. This bold initiative is set to substantially elevate Thailand’s digital framework, drive digital transformation, optimize local business efficiency, and amplify regional connectivity across Southeast Asia.

The Open Connectivity eXchange (OCX) isn’t just a network platform; it’s a revolutionary cloud-based and self-service framework. It’s engineered to provide seamless, high-speed, direct, and reliable internet connectivity across global data centers and public cloud environments. By anchoring OCX within a local data centre, BBIX Thailand and BBSakura Networks are poised to significantly upgrade network performance. This move will drastically reduce latency and bolster data security for businesses and consumers alike in the region. The OCX will reside within a global-standard, Uptime Tier III certified data centre, ensuring impeccable reliability and performance. Plans are already set for future expansion across other regions in subsequent phases.

Hidetoshi Ikeda, the Representative Director, President & CEO of BBIX Thailand, expressed, “I am thrilled that our collaboration with BBSakura Networks has enabled the establishment of OCX’s first location in Thailand, particularly in True IDC’s ultra-secure data centre. This partnership marks a pivotal moment for OCX’s growth, both in Asia and globally. BBIX Thailand remains committed to pushing the envelope in telecommunications and networking, taking innovation to new heights on an international scale.”

Echoing this sentiment, Hideyuki Sasaki, President & CEO of BBSakura Networks, stated, “We’ve been forging networks that transcend regional barriers by offering software-driven networking solutions through OCX. Launching in Thailand is a significant milestone as we venture into international markets. With this model, we aim to penetrate varied markets worldwide, driving business growth with efficiency like never before.”

Theerapun Charoensak, Board of Director at BBIX Thailand, also commented, “I wholeheartedly welcome our collaboration with BBSakura Networks, marking a leap forward in Thai connectivity by delivering OCX services. This partnership will ensure the widespread adoption of secure, high-speed cloud-based network solutions in Thailand, gearing up local and international businesses for the future.”

The much-anticipated OCX service is slated to be operational in Thailand by 2024, with comprehensive capabilities available to customers soon after. Both BBIX Thailand and BBSakura Networks are thoroughly committed to a smooth deployment and offer extensive support services to assist clients in transitioning to the new platform.
