Nonthaburi’s Comedic Heist: Motorcycle-Bound Burglars Arrested for Outlandish Appliance Theft

In a rather audacious turn of events straight out of a slapstick comedy movie, a daring gang embarked on a spree so outlandish that even the most seasoned mystery aficionados would raise an eyebrow. This spectacle unfolded in Nonthaburi, a bustling province radiating vibrant energy just northwest of Bangkok, where a group of enterprising miscreants decided to redefine the art of burglary.

Equipped with nothing short of a single motorcycle—a detail that adds a pinch of hilarity to their escapade—this gang managed an astonishing feat: the theft of various household appliances, ranging from a washing machine and refrigerator to an air conditioner and television, from a single building. Their unusual heist did not go unnoticed by the vigilant Nonthaburi police force.

The police, swift in action and guided by the tenacity of Police Colonel Phisut Chantarasuwan alongside Deputy Superintendent Phasakorn Chaiyawong, swooped in like hawks capturing their prey. They arrested three individuals. Enter 37-year-old Kasempan Phowitjit, 28-year-old Naret Monpan, and 22-year-old Piyawat Yeunsuk. The trio, though perhaps proud of their loot, now found themselves in a less-than-prestigious spot under the spotlight of law enforcement inquiry.

The apprehended loot, accompanying them like ill-fated accomplices, included that coveted washing machine, a hefty refrigerator, and a television set—a modest setup for a home entertainment ecosystem, if not for its illegal acquisition. Sadly, the air conditioner and a bold blue-black Honda Wave motorcycle without a license plate—the trusty steed of their operation—were also rounded up.

In the grand narrative of their downfall, Kasempan was snagged in a rented house on Soi Nonthaburi 14, while Naret and Piyawat found their endgame in a rented room on Soi Nonthaburi 8. Their brief reign of reckless pilfering, spanning from February 22 to March 5, sparked off after a concerned citizen filed a formal complaint on March 5. This led investigators directly to the scene of their many ‘impeccable’ crimes.

Piecing together the puzzle, the detectives relied on surveillance footage that aptly immortalized the gang in action. There it was: a singular motorcycle being anointed with absurd loads. Picture three to four individuals, each attempting to balance these hefty appliances as if they were students juggling books. The surveillance footage, now tantamount to a viral comedy meme, depicted the gang transporting sizable television sets, some as large as 55 inches, while straddling their undersized motorcycle.

As the law’s long arm caught up with the wily quartet, one member known mysteriously only as ‘Tee’ managed a getaway worthy of his own dramatic subplot. Naret, in a feat of involuntary honesty, revealed that Tee had slyly convinced them of an opportunity too good to pass up—stealing electrical wires whilst moonlighting as appliance burglars. Accordingly, they ventured out, returning with objects of desire in rounds, under the pretense of their target being an abandoned, fire-ravaged house.

Poor Naret, believing this tale, adorned his own abode with these trophies, blissfully unaware that fate, in the guise of law enforcement, was on its inexorable path to greet them all. Now, the burglars face charges of theft in the dark of night, alongside undermining barriers fashioned to protect property and using a vehicle ingeniously for both theft and dramatic escape.

With a storyline that reads like a heist fiction gone humorously awry, these bumbling bandits and their equally infamous inventory have been handed over to the investigators at Rattanathibet Police Station. There, justice will be meted out under the amused gaze of authority and observers alike.

In a twist of fate reminiscent of a classic thriller, Nonthaburi’s police, equipped with an avalanche of evidence, rise as the heroes ending this peculiarly riveting plot. The story of this eccentric burglary will echo long in the annals of local lore. Alas, for Naret, Kasempan, Piyawat, and their elusive ally Tee, their short-lived caper on wheels closes, leaving behind a curious audience both baffled and amused at their motorcycle-bound misadventure.

This is the funniest heist story I’ve ever heard! Who steals a fridge on a motorcycle?

    • AnnaLee March 14, 2025

I can’t even imagine how they managed to balance a fridge. How did that not fall off??

That’s what makes it all the more hilarious! Kind of like a clown act from a circus!

Maybe we should appreciate their dedication to reducing their carbon footprint! 😂

  2. Sandy March 14, 2025

How did they even think they’d get away with this? Surveillance cameras are everywhere!

    • Watson420 March 14, 2025

These guys probably thought they’re off the grid. A little too naive, perhaps?

  3. EcoObserver March 14, 2025

The use of a motorcycle is odd, but somewhat environmentally friendly. Maybe they’re pioneers in eco-friendly heists?

    • Mary_Jane March 14, 2025

Or perhaps they just couldn’t afford a moving truck. There’s practicality in their madness!

I bet Nonthaburi police had a good laugh watching that surveillance footage before arresting them.

I don’t understand how they left all that evidence behind. Suspicious much?

The allure of ‘Tee’ must have blinded them to the consequences.

    • Liam J. March 14, 2025

Tee sounds like a mastermind… the real brains behind this operation. 😂

Seems like a B-grade movie plot. Who knew reality could be so entertaining?

What kind of house was left abandoned like that? These guys are villains, but the setting sure helped them!

    • Mandy_1234 March 14, 2025

Apparently it was an old, fire-ravaged property. Almost makes you feel sorry for the house.

  8. Sammy March 14, 2025

They could make a mockumentary out of this! I’d watch it.

People underestimate the power of neighborhood vigilance. This just goes to show the importance of community.

  10. Tanya W. March 14, 2025

I can’t decide if they were foolish or just plain daring. Who am I kidding, they were foolish for sure.

And Tee? That’s the twist that’ll keep people talking. Did he set them up?

Reminds me of that time my husband tried to strap a Christmas tree to a bicycle. Some things just can’t be balanced. 😂

    • kiddobruno March 14, 2025

That’s dedication, GrandmaEllie! Maybe the burglars were just as determined. 😂

    • GrandmaEllie March 14, 2025

True, Bruno. Though I doubt they could top my husband’s antics!

  13. Emma_H March 14, 2025

As amusing as this is, it’s still a serious crime. They need a reality check.

  14. CuriousGeorge March 14, 2025

I’m curious about the upcoming trial. Are the judges expected to chuckle before deliberating?

  15. PoeticalPete March 14, 2025

In the realm of pseudo-heroes and electric dreams, a stolen fridge represents their fall from grace. What lies in the hearts of men, indeed?

  16. HTown_Slick March 14, 2025

Honestly, if Tee ever has a change of heart, he could probably write a best-seller about this.
