Non-Thai travelers to Thailand must now obtain a Thailand Pass QR code prior to entering the country. Travelers must provide proof of Covid-19 insurance covering at least US$10,000 as well as their immunization history to the Thailand Pass website.




The Thailand Pass is considered as an obstacle in the rebuilding of Thailand’s tourism economy following the pandemic. The Tourism Authority of Thailand – or TAT – will propose eliminating the Thailand Pass for good in order to encourage more foreigners to visit Thailand.




There are 46 “Yellow” provinces (high monitoring zones), 17 “Blue” provinces (pilot tourism/sandbox areas), and 14 “Green” provinces among Thailand’s 77 provinces, each having its unique set of Covid-19 rules and restrictions (surveillance areas).


Only the Green and Blue zones are allowed to open entertainment venues at the moment. Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand’s Health Minister, declared that the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) will recommend changing all zones to “Green” tomorrow, allowing entertainment venues to open across the country. Temperature measurement equipment and checkpoints are expected to be removed from all locations across Thailand by the CCSA. According to the Ministry of Public Health, there is no evidence that temperature checkpoints reduce coronavirus transmission.


The CCSA will discuss entertainment venue closing times, such as bars, nightclubs, and karaoke. Currently, entertainment establishments are required to close at midnight (in provinces in which they are allowed to be open at all). If the CCSA examines face masks at all tomorrow, they might say that removing face masks in public places is permissible in some instances. When deciding whether or not to wear a face mask, the CCSA may advise the public to use their best judgment. If you have Covid-19, the CCSA may suggest you to keep using face masks in busy places, places with poor ventilation, and indoor public areas.
